Studying in Malaysia: How Much Does It Really Cost?

Undergraduate tuition fees may cost around $6,000 to $28,000 for 3.5 to 5 years for bachelor of arts, engineering, accounting, and computer science programs in both public and private institutions. Moreover, a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery, which lasts for five years costs more and may fall around $137,500 to $160,300.  

Postgraduate tuition fees may cost around $598 to $4,785 a year, be it public or private institutions. 

Cost of Living

Malaysia, as a study destination, also prides itself on its affordable cost of living. In fact, its capital city of Kuala Lumpur was hailed as one of the most affordable cities for students. In 2017, it ranked first, and in 2018, it ranked second.

Moreover, international students in Malaysia are also eligible for various discounts including accommodation, traveling, and restaurants as long as they have an international student identity card (ISIC), which is a valid student ID.
