Robert Gordon University (RGU) is launching a new digital social learning program in the Book Club format to promote creative entrepreneurship across Scotland.
The book club is open to the public and will meet once a month from February to July. Members will receive a digital book filled with creative entrepreneurship know-how each month, which they can read at their leisure.
Each book will be followed by a two-hour virtual networking event, during which members can discuss the month’s theme while learning new business skills and networking with like-minded creatives.
The deadline to register for the Book Club Format via Look Again Aberdeen is Jan. 17. Prior to the first meeting in February, the first book will be released on Jan. 20.
RGU’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group (EIG) and Gray’s School of Art’s creative unit, Look Again, are launching the project.
The Gray’s School of Art has a creative section called Look Again Aberdeen. RGU’s Entrepreneurship & Innovation Group is dedicated to assisting new business creation and fostering innovation across Scotland.
Backed by Creative Scotland’s Create Network funding, the project serves as part of a campaign to assist the creative and cultural sector across the region.
RGU is committed to improving skills across Scotland and offers a variety of short courses to help businesses grow, such as RGU’s post-graduate degree in Creative Entrepreneurship.
The university’s online upskilling short courses, developed in collaboration with the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) and the Scottish Government, were developed in response to feedback from businesses about their people and skills needs.
RGU’s short courses are thus useful for individuals considering their employment options and organizations looking to upskill their employees.
